Abstract | Photovoltaic thermal modules (PVT) are devices that can convert solar radiation to electricity and hot water. PVTs have been proposed as a renewable source for rural areas in Cambodia. In this study, we evaluated the performance of PVT modules in the Kampong Chheuteal Institute of Technology (KCIT) campus in Kampong Thom province. A mathematical model has been developed to predict electrical power output and hot water production of the PVT modules under KCIT weather conditions and compared them with the conventional photovoltaic (PV) modules. The results showed that the PVT module achieved minimum electrical efficiency of 14.14% while PV module provided 13.42%. |
