Abstract | This study focused on the shear strength and flexural strength of enlarged-section reinforced concrete beams strengthened with FRP after the repaired section. Four cross-sections are proposed to calculate the shear strength and flexural strength in accordance with the building code, ACI 440.2R. In addition, 33 sample beams were calculated in accordance with three building codes ACI 440.2R, FIB BULLETIN 14, and CNR-DT 200/2004 for determining shear strength (Vn) and for determining the flexural strength (Mn) calculated in accordance with only the building code ACI 440.2R. The results obtained from the calculation of shear strength according to the building code ACI 440.2R are better than the building codes FIB BULLETIN 14 and CNR-DT 200/2004. Four cross-section beams are proposed namely RC-Co, RC-R-NF, RC-R-2SF, and RC-R-UF. By adopting ACI 440.2R, the shear strength and flexural strength of proposed cross-section beams were computed. The results from the calculation according to the building code are acceptable compared with the results from the experiment. |
