Abstract | This paper presents a comparison between two maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms for solar inverter in Matlab Simulink program, which are P&O (Perturb and Observe) algorithm and Incremental Conductance algorithm. Starting from the implemented model of the solar photovoltaic (PV) array together with the boost converter and its MPPT controller have been simulated to extract MPP from solar PV with different solar radiation and 25 0C temperature. After Boost converter, the topology of stand-alone solar PV system connects to battery and inverter. Finally, simulation’s result shows that both of these algorithms have high efficiency around 99.86%; but Incremental Conductance algorithm has efficiency and tracking speed better than P&O algorithm. Moreover, Incremental Conductance algorithm also gives the better output signal form DC-DC boost converter than P&O algorithm.
