Abstract | Economic load dispatch (ELD) is the process of generating real and reactive power from the generator to meet the power demand of the power system while minimizing fuel costs as the generator input. To solve the ELD problem with maintaining voltage stability, the Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) method was proposed in this paper. The study data used in this research is IEEE 30-bus 6 generators with 189.2 MW of demand power. It is an input to perform verified calculations with the IPSO method. As a result of this case study, the minimum fuel value obtained was 575.28 $/hr with a power loss of only 2.605 MW. According to the results, the IPSO method is better than the traditional method of solving ELD problems with low fuel costs and voltage stability that is not lower than the critical point. |
