Abstract | Reinforced concrete (RC) jacketing of RC columns is used to increase the load-carrying capacity of RC columns with insufficient strength. The method of RC jacketing is an easy and cost-effective method. The confinement action is influenced by the stirrups in concrete core, stirrups in RC concrete jacketing, the thickness of RC jacketing, and the strength of RC jacketing. With the confinement effect, strength and ductility after jacketing increased due to this confinement effect. Analytical models by researcher and assumption formula in existing codes were used to predict the compressive strength of the RC columns. This study compared the results obtained from analytical results and existing code with test results by researcher for core concrete column and RC jacketing column. In addition, parametric analysis was also conducted. This study shows promising results. |
