Abstract | To avoid collapse under wind load and seismic forces in tall building shear walls are provided. Shear wall arrangement must be absolutely accurate, because if not, it will cause negative effect instead. When the mass center and hardness center coincide with each other, the distance of shear wall from the mass center also plays an important role in the shear contribution of the shear wall. Building codes can provide reliable indication of actual performance of individual structural elements. However, it is out of their scope to describe the expected performance of a designed structure as a whole under large forces. In this task, a study was carried out by changing the locations of the shear wall radically to determine the structural configuration of a multistory building accordantly. This study has been focused on the effect of the addition of shear wall at different locations and configuration in buildings, also study has been done with the same speed of wind by using ETABS software. |
