Abstract

In this project, the Proportional Integral (PI), Integral Proportional (IP), and Proportional   Integral Derivative (PID) algorithms are used for controlling the speed of the DC motor. These controllers were developed using MATLAB/SIMULINK for better outcomes. Controllers are made for closed-loop  systems. PID tuning is used in this instance to design P-I, I-P, and PID controllers. Because PID controllers outperform P-I and I-P controls, they are frequently used in industry. The biggest disadvantage of the P-I controller is that it has a high overshoot. That is undesirable in the speed control of a DC motor. This is often somewhat reduced in the I-P controller. However, it doesn’t eliminate the overshoot entirely. As a result, we switch to the PID controller, which removes the overshot lower than the P-I and I-P controllers but has a potentially large settling time.
