Abstract

A study on Design and simulation of a photovoltaic system for stand-alone and grid-connected operation mode for a residential in Cambodia. The purpose of the project study is to focus on the supply of energy, which is clean energy, reduce energy consumption that affects the environment, and the supply of electricity to a home sustainably, despite the shortage of supply from the national grid.

In this project, we studied housing for a middle-class family. The average electricity consumption is 15.64 kWh per day and an average of 4900 kWh per year. after the study, we can install about 12 solar panels equal to 20 square meters on the roof area of 48 square meters with a power of 4.2 kWp, which can supply to load during the day and charge to the battery for use at night. Throughout the year, if there is cloudy or rain for more than two days.

For high-potential months, such as January to May and from October to December, some solar panels generate more than 60 to 200 kWh per month. In this case, we can consider selling back to the national network if there is any integration between the national network.
