Abstract | The aim of the research project is to study the behavior of system of steel roof components, which are made of suspended bendy rigid steel elements by a pole at each end. The elements of this type of roof system are subjected to tension and bending, and because it is lightweight and uncomplicated to build, which is why we can build long or wide without the needed for pillars in the middle. The elements of steel roof can be realized in the form of parabolic with the hot rolled or build up cross-section area. Compared to classic steel and reinforced concrete roof structures, they have several advantages and benefits, including the possibility of using lard spans without the disruptive internal supports, relatively quick construction and lower material cost. The tests confirmed that even with different geometrical, stiffness and loads configurations, the suspended flexurally rigid element is stressed by tensile stress in its entire cross-section. Tensile stress can change its size along the height of the cross-section depend-ing on the interaction of the tensile force and the bending moment that can be occur total stresses working in net tension. |
