Abstract | The Government of Cambodia has set a goal to supply 100% of all villages with electricity by 2020. In fact, in 2015, the supply was 62%. Electricity consumption in Cambodia is growing at an average annual rate of 6.9%. Seeing the shortage of energy in the future, many PV Power Plant projects have been installed in the past few years. In Svay Rieng province, PV Power Plant was completed in 2017 with a capacity of 15 MWac. In Kampong Speu province, the PV Power Plant was completed in 2019 with a capacity of 60 MWac, and in Kampong Chhnang province, there is a PV Power Plant project of 100 MWac. PV Power Plant has become a popular power plant because it provides reliable, noisefree, non-toxic environment with higher yields and lower solar panel prices. |
