To determine the optimal cross-sectional of irrigation canals is important to ensure the effectiveness of consistent use in accordance with technical economic standards. There are many factors that make the canal unstable include the flow of water is also an important factor that can damaging the canal. There are several methods for calculating the diameter of the canal such as the equations of Mannin and Kennedy​ had been selected for this study based on the actual velocity and critical velocity (silting and scouring of canals).
