Abstract

This research aims to use the mirror reflection on the Solar PV Standalone system; which called called PV Mirror Integrated Solar PV System. (MISPVS),in order to study details about whether it can be provided a get better output than using conventional solar panels called Traditional Solar PV System (TSPVS). In order to get good and accurate results, we collected data to analyze the actual test by selecting the Institute of Polytechnics of Cambodia as the location for the installation of 2 solar panels 42W KYOCERA SM-42KSM and the same specification, with one panel installed using a reflective mirror panel called the MISPVS system, while the other panel is installed normally without the use of glass panels called the TSPVS system. Both solar panels are mounted at an angle of 13.5o on a metal stand connected to two pure resistor receivers to measure the current of both panels. In conclusion whether the MISPVS output is actually
better than the TSPVS by measuring and calculating the main parameters of the solar panel, such as voltage, current, power, temperature and humidity. After studying the documents and doing practical tests for 4 months (From May to September), it shows that MISPVS actually get better yield than TSPVS between 5% to 6% on the sunny day (clear skies with full sunlight). However, the MISPVS and TSPVS results are almost identical on the cloudly or rainy day.
