Abstract | Composite reinforced concrete (RC) elements with ultra-high performance con-crete (UHPC) subjected to blast loading was conducted through numerical modelling. The interfacial bond characteristics were also considered into the model. The blast model was validated using test results in available literature. Behavior of the UHPC layer attached onto RC elements was numerically observed. Simulation results showed that the UHPC layer of composite elements was effective and could enhance the blast resistance of com-posite RC elements with UHPC including the maximum deflection and the cracking dam-age patterns. |
