Abstract

Economic Dispatch (ED) of thermal power plant has main role in maintaining economic power system. The main purpose of ED is to set generator to generate maximum power according to load demand base on each generator characteristic with lower cost. In this thesis Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) is used to solve ED problem by simulation in MATLAB R2019b to test 2 different cases study according to IEEE standard system. The first case to simulation is IEEE 14 Bus system and the result are 5 generators with a total power generators 263.435 MW with total power load 259.300 MW total costs 881.75 $/h and total power loss 4.134 MW. The second cast to simulate is IEEE 30 bus system and the result are 6 generators with a total power generators 191.800 MW with total power load 189.200 MW total costs 575.25 $/h and total power loss 2.608 MW. In this thesis also analyzing on voltage stability by using Continuation Power Flow of Newton-Raphson Method to simulation in MATLAB R2019b with IEEE 14 Bus system.
To obtain Continuation Power Flow – PV curve that indicate Stability Zone, Critical Point and Unstable Zone by using Predictor and Corrector of Continuation Power Flow. The proposed method is applied in Bus 10, 11, 14 of IEEE14 Bus.
