Abstract | This paper presents the implementation of Field-Oriented Control (FOC) technique for precise position control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM). FOC is a sophisticated control strategy widely adopted for its effectiveness in enhancing the performance of PMSM-based systems. The proposed implementation leverages the inherent advantages of FOC to achieve accurate positioning by decoupling the motor's control variables, namely flux and torque, from each other. Through mathematical modeling and simulation, the effectiveness of FOC in regulating the motor's position under varying load conditions and disturbances is demonstrated. Furthermore, practical implementation aspects such as sensor integration and PI control algorithm design are discussed. Experimental results validate the efficacy of the FOC-based position control system in achieving precise and responsive motor positioning. The findings of this study contribute to the advancement of control techniques for PMSM applications, particularly in domains where accurate position control is paramount, such as robotics, electric vehicles, and industrial automation. |
